Welcome to my WORD PRESS ACCOUNT !!!! Woot Woot ….. I’m writing 🙂
As my first entry I would like to give some advice on Bridal makeup as the season is coming and my beautiful Brides will be in full planning mode.
Your special day is approaching and you have to decide between hiring a Professional Makeup Artist or letting Aunty Wendy explore her untapped makeup skills. Brides should always remember that the images of this day will be shown off for years. They should look the most beautiful version of themselves.
To achieve that flawless and memorable look here is a glimpse into some of the techniques a professional will use on your wedding day. Try them out yourself as well for special occasions.
Before foundation, primer application is key. A makeup primer is a base for foundation that allows it to go on smoother and last longer. Primers should be matched according the your skin type for best results. Good examples are Benefit The Porefessional and Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
Build a Strong Foundation
Your makeup artist will take many factors into consideration when choosing foundations, correct shade, skin type, level of coverage. No matter what foundation selected, however, the key to a flawless finish is application !!
To achieve an airbrushed look the best technique is to use a dense foundation brush and press the liquid, cream or powder foundation into the skin all over the face and neck. The pressing or “stippling” method of application melts the product into the skin preventing creasing and running during the day.
The Eyes Have I
It is advisable to stay away from trends on your wedding day so most Brides request classic, simpler eye makeup. Lash enhancement is a great way to give that finishing touch to any eye look. Nowadays a bride has options and can choose to wear Eyelash Extensions or Regular temporary lash Strips.
Lash extensions are individually applied synthetic fibers attached to the base of each eyelash with surgical glue. Each extension is applied one by one to your own eyelashes. Lash extensions are great for brides as they last for weeks and are waterproof, comfortable to wear and non-damaging to the natural lash.
Lash strips are a more common option. They are not as long lasting but offer a more affordable and temporary alternative to extensions. They come in different styles and lengths dependent on your desired look.
Love the Skin you’re in
Flawless wedding day makeup starts weeks before the actual wedding day. As we age our skin needs more and more care. Incorporate as much water as possible into your day. Sign up for monthly facials and invest in appropriate, cleansers, toners and moisturisers. The extra care will pay off by providing your artist with a beautiful canvas and your photographer a flawless subject.
Enjoy your special day and remember what Coco Chanel said – “ Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself”
